The fire tetrahedron, formally known as the fire triangle, requires four things to survive. Fires need fuel, heat, oxygen and a chain reaction to exist. A carbon dioxide fire extinguisher, or CO2 extinguisher, fights fires by removing a very important element; oxygen. The pressurized liquid CO2 displaces the oxygen and fires quickly go out. Then you can regain control of the area or equipment. CO2 extinguishers are perfect for motor control rooms, electrical panels, or any equipment you cannot afford to get water, foam or dry chemical on. These extinguishers will not cause any additional damage to electronics because they will not cause an electrical short circuit which may effect other machines. When it comes to electrical fires, these extinguishers are king.
